Do Bel-Ray products meet major OEM requirements?

Bel-Ray products meet every manufacturers OEM requirements, including JASO MA, JASO MA2 and API specification.


Will using Bel-Ray products affect my manufacturer’s warranty?

No, the warranty is based upon JASO, API or the manufacturers OEM performance and Bel-Ray products adhere to all these specifications.

Can you mix Bel-Ray engine oils with other engine oils?

Yes, Bel-Ray engine oils will mix with other engine oils.

Will my bike go faster with Bel-Ray products?

The additive pack used in Bel-Ray EXS will better lubricate the engine reducing friction, thus increasing power.

Will my bike last longer with Bel-Ray products?

The many years of research and engineering that has gone into producing premium grade products that offer superior protection against engine wear.

How should I store my bike for the winter?

We recommend that you drain the old oil, replace the filter and refill your motorcycle with the correct grade of oil, run the engine for a few minutes to coat the inside of the engine with oil, turn the engine off and store your motorcycle away. Turn off the gas supply and either drain the float bowls or run the engine until all the fuel is used. You bike will start right up next year. It is also a good idea to install a battery tender to maintain the battery charge.

Do I need to flush the engine with engine flush?

No, this is not necessary as Bel-Ray products have detergents in the oil that clean the engine during use.


Which Bel-Ray product should I use to run my engine in?

We would recommend you use EXL as a running in oil for about 1000km, then switch to either EXS a full synthetic oil or EXP which is synthetic oil.

Which Bel-Ray chain lube should I use on my bike?

If your bike is used off-road we recommend Bel-Ray Super Clean chain lube. If you have a street machine we recommend Bel-Ray Blue Tac Chain Lube.

How do you clean foam filter oil from a filter?

Use Bel-Ray Foam Filter Cleaner & Degreaser and rinse with water. Then use some dish soap or car soap, work this into the filter and rinse out with water. Let the filter dry completely and you are ready to reapply foam filter oil.

Can we use Bel-Ray Assembly Lube to lubricate the rear splines of the final drive?

Yes, Bel-Ray Assembly Lube contains around 40% moly which will prevent metal to metal contact in the splines. You can also use Assembly Lube on the spines of drive shafts.

Can we use Bel-Ray Gear Saver Hypoid Gear Oil in transmissions with wet clutches?

No we recommend you use Bel-Ray Gear Saver Transmission Oil in transmissions with wet clutches. Hypoid gear oil is for transmissions and final drives without wet clutches.
