FAQ - Frequently asked questions - technical
In the system I found a chain with different length than I have on my bike. Why?
We have most of chains on stock in given legths. If your motorcycle has a different length of the chain, in the catalogue there is assigned and to you will be delivered the chain with closest higher length (e.g. chains 106, 112, 118 links, on the bike 110 links => delivered chain 112 links).
Which connecting links are supplied for chains?

Type of chains 525 and higher are supplied with the rivet type of connecting link, which guarantees higher safety. Since April 2006, connecting links are supplied with spacers for correct riveting of chains. For correct and safe riveting of chain it is necessary to have a rivet tool, because of that it is best to visit specialized service. We remind a possibillity of buying the special rivet tool and chain cutter – you can find it in the catalogue of accessories - "CR-50 CUT/RIVET TOOL". It is also possible to use special screwing connecting link, for its´ unriveting is enough to have 8mm wrench.

Questions to MIVV exhausts
1) Changes on exhaust systems
1a) Is it possible to use the exhaust system on the different type of motorcycle than it was made for?
- it is not recommended, because all MIVV exhausts are constructed just for the certain type of motorcycle
1b) I already have MIVV silencer, can I buy pipes in addition?
- unfortunately, single pipes are not sold, so you decide carefully before buying the product.
1c) What are the proportions of the silencer and pipes for my motorcycle?
- proportions vary after single types of bikes, we don´t pass these information, anyway the exhaust systems are designed for reaching best performance concerning power, torque, weight, design and sound.
2) Performance of systems
2a) Do I have to do some changes on the motorcycle or use other mapping of the control unit after buying the MIVV exhaust system?
- MIVV exhausts are constructed to work correctly without any changes on the motorcycle. If there is an additional control unit or other air filter used on the motorcycle, the delivery of power as well as the general performance of the bike can be improved
2b) Can I get the additional control unit at your shop?
- MIVV doesn´t produce additional aftermarket control units, because the company is specialized on producing exhaust systems. But they cooperate with the company Dynojet Europe, who develop maps for the Power Commander specially designed for MIVV exhausts. A lot of them is possible to download at www.mivv.it
2c) What increase in power can I expect?
- MIVV develops exhausts on the dynamometers, these tests are performed on production motorcycles in comparison with original exhaust systems. Generally speaking, all result show increase in power and torque, the difference depends on certain type of motorcycle. At www.mivv.it there are published result in comparison with original OEM exhaust.
2d) My motorcycle is equipped with EXUP system. What happens after installing MIVV exhaust system?
- according to the motorcycle type, in some cases EXUP has to be removed, in that case there is no problem in the power delivery. At some motorcycles, where control unit looks after EXUP presence, there is a special kit for removing the warning signal.
2e) My motorcycle is equipped with lambda probe. What happens after installation of MIVV exhaust system?
- in some cases, when there is the lambda probe deleted with the silencer, our system is equipped with a place, where there is possible to mount the labdma probe again.
2f) I would like to give more aggressive and stunning sound to my motorcycle. Which of MIVV products should I choose?
- all MIVV products are designed for this purpose and also to keep the legislation rules. That´s why you can choose type of exhaust from the aesthetic point of view.
3) Homologation
3a) Are all of the MIVV exhausts equipped with removable dB killer?
- all products homologated for road use are equipped with removable dB killer. Some systems from the STRONGER line don´t involve this dB killer, because its´ removal would cause a loss in power.
3b) Is it necessary to make some registration that the mounted exhaust would be homologated for road use?
- no, the stamped homologation number on the exhaust is enough to prove that the exhaust is homologated for road use. In addition, MIVV supplies the certificate in a size of a credit card to the new exhaust, that you can carry with.
4) Maintenance
4a) How can I clean MIVV exhaust system?
- at first, let it completely cool down. Use a soft rag or sponge with a mild water and a cleaning product without abrasive particles, e.g. car shampoo. Stainless steel and titanium systems can be cleaned with a oil spray (multipurpose oil). A thin layer of this oil makes the maintenance easier. Carbon surface can be cleaned with a soft rag. Do not use high pressure washer or steam washer for cleaning exhausts.
4b) When should I change inner filler of the exhaust?
When using it for the long term or race use, inner filler of the exhaust could loose its features. Symptoms are higher noise level or changes in the outer surface colour. If this happens, it is important to change the isolation filler to prevent further damages to the exhaust. Possible changes in the colour of the surface thanks to the late change of the isolation filler do not relate to guarantee.
